Manny`s Mexican Restaurant in Avondale

First time experience here..... Atmosphere is good and the wait wasn't long. Service wasn't the best (that's why I give it 3 stars), but I'll forgive them this time. I got pork (street) tacos with rice and it was really good. Chips were good but the salsa was average. Guacamole was good but not the best. Overall, I liked it. When i get better service I'll update my review.

I'm from the Southwest so I pretty much live on Mexican food. Other than the salsa, this is pretty close to home. The enchiladas were delicious with a rich sauce. They server got my order wrong, but I ate it anyway because they were so busy and I didn't want to wait for it to be corrected. The salsa sort of tasted as though someone poured canned crushed tomatoes into a bowl and seasoned it, while ironically the tortilla chips they served it with were amazing! 4 stars for the incorrect order and the super bland salsa, but I'll probably be back when I'm in Kansas City.

I'm not used to none Tex-Mex restaurants out here so the menu is lot as authentic as I'm accustomed to. If you are looking for a low-sodium meal I don't know if this is the place but I certainly did not taste any seasonings. However, the atmosphere is nice, the bar is excellent and the service was wonderful although I'm going to have to shown them how-to dress a beer. Don't mind going back just to try there desert menu.

First time here and was not disappointed! The food was fantastic and the service was great. Very attentive and never let our drinks get empty. Will definitely visit again!

Not expensive but chips were stail and food was poisoned cause I'm a tree squirrel. They think its funny. Ignorance is bliss. But they were friendly. Sauce was good but anyone can make it. Its canned tomatoes, garlic, cilantro, serrano peppers, salt and vinegar. There were no onions in my mannys salad; nothing but beans, hamburger, lettuce, tomatoes and very little; very plain. Not the same mannys from 20 years ago. Wonder how long it will be before I die from it. It seems so long.

Manny's has been around for a while, so I decided to stop in. They have awkward parking, but that area is awkward anyhow. The service was good, atmosphere was good, but the food was quite generic. Nothing popped out at me. The salsa was almost like marinara sauce. Chips, tacos, beans, ehhh you can get them anywhere. Nothing to make a special trip for.

The food was so disappointing. Worse than mediocre. And overpriced regardless of the poor quality. The margarita to go was grossly sweet. And we didn’t even get all of our food ordered. Would not recommend.

After years of friends bragging we finally gave it a try. First, the parking is awful. Second, we had to yield to an employee as we were walking in the front door so she could make sure the young man salting the sidewalk was doing it correctly. What happened to customers first? The salsa was nothing to brag about. About the same as every other Mexican food place around. The chips were cold. The food was lackluster for the price. I can get tastier Mexican food right down the street for a more reasonable price. We again had to get out of the way of an employee as we were leaving. I guess manners were not taught to the servers of this restaurant.

I worked in a Mexican restaurant for a few years and married the cook... so I know all of the recipes and am very discriminating about my Mexican food. Living in a California, where we have many fine Mexican restaurants in every town, I thought Manny’s was fairly good. But I can’t say enough about the excellent service for our large group of 24. The building and ambience was very nice. The only difficulty was finding parking on the street on a Saturday evening anywhere near the restaurant. But it’s a major city, so it’s to be expected. Our group had a fabulous time. The prices seemed reasonable, as I picked up the tab for 5 of us and it was under $80, including tip. The best part was that the waitress made separate tags, which was very much appreciated. I would go

Picked up my order as usual great food. Disappointed though ordered 2 tamales but we didnt get the chunks of pork in sauce to pour over them. Only reason we go to Mannys is for tamales

Great service. Continually refilled the chips. Food was great. I had the pork burrito and it was one of the best I've tasted.

Walked in the restaurant it was very big it looked very nice when it wasn't the bar side. It seemed sanitary. But we tried the salsa it was horrible. It tasted like I was eating spaghetti sauce. We tried the guacamole and it was also horrible it was like we were eating nothing it tasted like cardboard. Would not recommended going there if you want chips and salsa. Our waiter was very nice though. She was very understanding when we left to go to a different restaurant.

There is usually a wait, but that's how good restaurants usually are. Best Mexican food downtown or anywhere near it. The margaritas get the job done as well.Great environment and great service make Manny's a go-to.

We had much better mexican food elsewhere. You get either beans or rice with your meal. I normally like combining the rice and beans together. The burrito was not very traditional tasting.

We love Manny’s and we come here every chance we get. Had a great time and had wonderful service from Izzy I think her name was. She checked on us quite often. She was terrific.

Great ambiance, quick service, tasty salsa butsbut the food is so mediocre. About the same level as taco bell. I wasn't expecting this for a place with good reviews and a nice Mexican restaurant vibe.

Always the best Mexican food! Everything is fresh tasting and consistent.

Initially they seemed a bit off put when I asked for bean tacos. No real vegetarian options on the menu. They did make bean tacos for me. Hubby had the equivalent of the Mexican flag. Said it was quite good. Salsa is very tomatoey the spicy salsa was tastier. The 1/2 order of guacamole was delicious. The churros were the hit of the meal. Linda provided great service; chips and drinks were never empty.Edit: We gave Mannys another try. Changing my rating from 3 to 4 stars. the taco salad was very good. When I asked for just beans; it was not an issue. Loved that it’s served on top of chips instead of a huge tortilla bowl. Service was excellent and they offer plenty of parking.

Customer service was great. Waiter was very attentive and patient. The decoration was pretty but food was not good. It was flavorless. My family had tamales flautas sopes burgers and burritos. I asked for sope which was topped with GROUND BEEF not regular asada. Also they did not have HORCHATA :(

Went for lunch and I was not impressed with the food. It came out quickly however the chicken inside my taco and enchiladas was dried out as if was in a warmer. It took awhile for out server to come to our take, however she was friendly and attentive once she came over.

I hopped in for a quick lunch while in the Crossroads area. I chose the Mucho Nachos. They were pretty good. The building is older, but I liked that it gives it character. The service was great.

Came here on a Thursday for supper with family. We had reservations for a party of 7 with only 6 who could make it. There is limited parking along a very busy downtown corridor. Cost was what I expected.The salsa is average and could use some seasoning but everything else was top notch. Service was great. The restaurant was clean and well maintained for an older building. I ordered the tres sabres and absolutely loved the flavor. All 3 sauces on the enchiladas were good together but the salsa verde was a 10. Good heat and flavor. Next time I am going to ask for it with the chips. I could eat it every day of my life and be happy. It was served hot and in a reasonable amount of time. I look forward to returning. Thanks to everyone for a fine experience.

Being from out of town I found this place on Google had some good reviews and was close to where we were, so we decided to try it. I must say if you think this is good authentic Mexican food you're mentally ill. The food was soggy, the chicken was blan plain tasteless, my beans were so watery I could have drank them, and the "salsa" was canned tomatoes as best. Kitchen knightmares with Gordon Ramsey I don't think could have even saved that food, at least he would have the common sense to fire the chef! Our waitress even told us we couldn't oder an extra side (blessing in disguise I guess now). The gold peak raspberry tea was refreshing though. Neither my family nor my friends will be attending ever again. One star is too much for what we were served.

This place will not be getting a star. The waiter was absolutely rude. We asked for a different waiter and were asked to move to a different location. And we waited 30 minutes to even be served drinks . Felt disrespected. Perhaps it's because we are bikers and dress differently than everyone else. It was a discriminating feeling . I do love their food .hope the manager and the waiters learn manners. And be more respectful to everyone.

My families favorite Mexican restaurant ever. Also my personal favorite spot to eat lunch at and not tell the wife...

We had a party of 13, we were seated fairly quickly given the size. Waitress was courteous. Atmosphere was nice. Value for the money was mediocre and so was the food. The experience was OK but not on my list of restaurants to continue to visit.

Visited KC & was in the mood for Mexican food. Saw how highly rated this place was so decided to give it a shot. I seriously have no clue how their ratings are that good. The food was horrible! Only reason for 2 stars is the chips & salsa were great & staff were super nice.

Curbside pickupof delicious food, even beer and margaritas! Packed great and excellent hand off, put the bags on a table for you to take without getting close to staff and staff masked and gloved! Ordered burritos and enchiladas, with cheese dip and chips and all was delicious! Will definitely be using again - was already a favorite so this curbside pickup is great.

Wonderful dining experience on a very busy Saturday night. We were a party of four and had no reservation and no wait! Service was fast and efficient. The quality of food was excellent. I struggled only with the level of sound in the restaurant.

I'd give them 5 starts just for their great staff! Always friendly and accommodating. I also enjoy the food. If you can find a place to park, you'll enjoy Manny's.

I have come here for about 30 years. I always order a taco and cheese enchilada. I went yesterday and the sauce was way hot. The enchilada had a strange red sauce on it. There was hardly any staff, no one around. I emailed my concerns that the recipe was different. I got a flippant answer about how I could have contacted the manager....(which actually is what I was doing....)....and I, and my family will not be back. We will go on down the street to Ponak's.

I would love do give a 4 or 5 star because the food was good but service was awful. Drinks were mot refilled,tool forever to get a check and we were charged for a Togo drink without being informed. Then when getting things together to leave with 2 babies, the bus boy came and slammed the dust and broom down right in front of us

I have been coming here for 35 years. Best tacos I have ever eaten. The salsa is the best ever, just give it to me with an IV. I love Mannys

Decent lunch specials. Burrito was good, nothing spectacular. Nice place overall abs staff was very friendly. I'll go back to try some other menu items

Fantastic place. 2 kinds of salsa served automatically. The hot is great! The cheese dip alsonon point. I had the verge pork burrito covered in Monterey cheese. Holy goodness. The service is good, but they were busy even at 2 pm, so be prepared to wait.

Mannys has been in business for over 30 years bringing top notch food and service to Kansas City, Mo. I worked with Manny when he was a bartender. He had a vision. He made it happen. Manny passed a few years ago. I met his son last night. I am glad to see his family is carrying on Mannys vision. Great food. Exceptional.Service. Highly recommended.

Had a taste for tacos 8/5/2020. Went to Taco Bell and spent $12. Didn't go to Mannys because it was after 9:00 pm. So the next day I started out early to Mannys. There was a wait, so I decided to view the layout until they were ready. Staff threatened to call the police on me. I'm Black. Went to the grocery store and purchased all my items for $17.
